Come to Church

We meet every Sunday at 9.30am. And you're invited!

We're an Anglican Church community passionate to learn about, and live for, Jesus. We'd love you to join us as we engage with God and his world, and develop friendships together.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you've known Jesus since you were a child, you're coming back after a little while or you're just interested in exploring more about Christianity, you'll be welcomed here.

What to expect on Sundays

We meet every Sunday to worship God for who he is, talk to him in prayer, praise him in song, and hear him speak as the Bible is read and proclaimed. Our services (when we gather on Sunday) are quite laid back. Wear whatever you're comfortable in — some people wear shorts and a t-shirt and others are a bit more formal.

Our service begins at 9.30am but most people arrive a few minutes before that to get settled in before our gathering begins. Our welcoming team will say 'hi' as you come in, so you're not alone! Feel free to ask them anything.

Each week, we:

  • welcome you at the entrance of the church on the way in;

  • sing three or four songs together (you're welcome to sing along, or just listen);

  • read from the Bible;

  • listen to a short message (about 20 minutes) from the minister about what we've just read in the Bible;

  • pray to God (again, feel free to just listen);

  • finish our time together in fellowship over free morning tea in our church hall.

Once the service is finished, there is a time of focused prayer at the front of the church. If you have anything you'd like prayer for, head there to be prayed for by someone from our prayer team. Each service goes for no more than about 75 minutes.

Kids and Youth on Sundays

Kids and youth are so welcome at church! Every week during school term we have activities for kids in preschool, primary school and high school. These activities are a great way for kids and youth to learn more about God and understand what it looks like to live every week as a follower of Jesus.

Our kids and youth program commences in church at 9.30am with everyone together, and after about 10 minutes they head out to their own, age-appropriate activities with their leaders. The sessions go until the end of church, at which time everyone is invited to join together for morning tea.

Of course, kids and youth are also welcome to stay in church with their families until they are more familiar with St Nics'. Alternatively, parents are welcome to join their younger children in the activities to begin with. All our kids and youth leaders have current Working with Children Checks and follow the Anglican Church's Safe Ministry policy.
