St. Nicolas’ Vision For Our Church
» Being passionate about Jesus Christ
We aim to be people whose lives are genuinely transformed through our relationship with Jesus, as we prepare for his return. We rejoice that we are saved by God’s grace alone and we deeply desire others to believe and have faith in Him. We work to develop dynamic personal relationships with Him, and ensure our worship enables us to connect with Him.
» Being empowered by the Holy Spirit
God has equipped us to build his church and we aim to do that by tapping into the glorious riches of His power, and not depending on our own. We, therefore, seek to know Him and be empowered by Him as we work for unity of mind and purpose within our community. The Bible teaches that each believer has a spiritual gift for such work, and we delight in finding what those gifts are and employing them.
» Ministering to each other and the broader community
As Jesus ministered to people by serving them, we also desire to serve as a genuine Christian community. We welcome newcomers to become part of our church and encourage members to participate in its life.
» Enabling growth in God’s people and Kingdom
We know that true freedom and fulfilment arises through belief and faith in Jesus. God’s Kingdom grows as people come to accept Jesus as their Saviour, Lord and friend. People are encouraged to grow in their personal relationship with Christ expressed in the development of their faith and service to others. We acknowledge that our Anglican heritage is rich and we will continue within its framework while working with other Christ-centered churches who proclaim the gospel.
